A three-year-old girl was killed and four others sustained moderate injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in rolled on the corner of the R511 and M26 in Erasmia, on Sunday night (January 21).
“When ER24 arrived on the scene at 22H45, another medical service was already in attendance. Upon further assessment, paramedics found four patients who had sustained moderate injuries,” said Ineke van Huyssteen, ER24 spokesperson.
It is believed that a three-year-old child was flung from the vehicle.
“Unfortunately, there was nothing paramedics could do for the girl and she was declared dead on the scene by another medical service.
“ER24, as well as another medical service, transported the patients to hospital for further medical care.
The exact details surrounding the incident were not yet known to our paramedics,” said Ineke.
