Agra Street East resident brutally stabbed after leaving mosque

A routine stroll home from the Ghosia Mosque, ended in a bloody incident for Ifaheem Muhammad, when he was brutally attacked and robbed by a couple of merciless armed thugs.

According to Ifaheem’s boss Waqar Azeem, his employee was en-route home, after Maghrib (early evening) prayers, at around 7.30pm this past Monday evening (January 22), when he was targeted. His cell phone and wallet were stolen.

Waqar told the Laudium Sun, “They did not ask him anything, they just stabbed him and then took what they wanted from him.”

Ifaheem tried to get away but they continued to stab him. He then, somehow, managed to run home, which is nearby. When he got to his home on Agra Street East, his friend, Dilawar Hussain, called to inform me that Ifaheem had been stabbed. I rushed there and took him to the nearest doctor in Laudium, Dr Faizel Mukadam. He was almost unconscious by then,” Waqar exclaimed.

Dr Mukadam told the Laudium Sun “Ifaheem had very serious injuries that caused severe blood loss. He had been stabbed in the neck, as well as from the top of his back right down to his lower back near the kidney, as he tried to get away. I stabilised him, whereafter he was rushed to Kalafong Hospital.”

When asked about the horrific incident, Ifaheem told the Laudium Sun that it was a nightmarish experience, that he did not wish upon anyone. He said that he walked that route every day, but that this was the first time something like this had happened to him. “I want to thank the Almighty that I am alive. I am not worried about the things they took, as long as I'm alive. I was almost dead, but the Almighty saved me. I would also like to thank my boss, Waqar Azeem, and Dr Mukadam for helping me,” the still visibly distressed Ifaheem concluded.

Ifaheem was dragged into this pathway (leading to Military Road), as he walked along Agra Street East.

Dr. Faizel Mukadam stabilised Ifaheem before having him rushed to Kalafong Hospital.

Muhammad Ifaheem was treated for his stab wounds at Kalafong Hospital.
