Amity hosts 2017 Matric Awards

Amity International School hosted an awards ceremony for the class of 2017 this past Monday (February 12), at the school. The ceremony is an annual event that recognizes the achievements of the Amity matriculants.

The class of 2017 achieved 25 distinctions, with 13 Bachelor passes and 5 diploma passes. The top student for the year was Hannan Petker of Erasmia, who achieved seven distinctions in English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Life Orientation, Physics, Accounting and Economics. The bright young lady is currently studying Actuarial Sciences at the University of Pretoria.

Speaking to the Laudium Sun, Hannan said that she had visualized top grades whilst still in primary school, when she had set out to attain the wonderful results that she has now achieved.

Teacher, Kisti Pillay advised the matriculants on their way forward and motivated them to do well in all their future endeavours.

Amity Principal, Sonia Kotze, said that she was very proud of the perseverance and results of the matriculants of 2017, and wished them everything of the best for bright futures ahead.

Humayrah Essack received a Special Award certificate from Economics teacher, Kisti Pillay.

The principal’s award was given to Vishal Singh Bechan.
