Monday, December 18, 2017 will always be a memorable day for the family and friends of businessman Omar Carrim who was held hostage for 137 days after being abducted when leaving his business, Home Hyper City, in Pretoria Central.
Uncle Omar (76) of 2nd Ave, Laudium was released in Olifantsfontein that Monday evening at around 10:30pm.
“Uncle Omar has been admitted to an undisclosed hospital where he is getting the required medical attention. We appeal for privacy. Let's give the victim and his family the time and space to recover from the ordeal," said a family representative at the time of uncle Omar’s release.
For months, the community together with family members, held prayers at various mosques, homes and other places for the safe return of uncle Omar.
The Carrim family thanked relatives, friends and the community for all the support and assistance since his disappearance in early August last year and added “We are most grateful to everyone and we thank the Almighty for returning our father and brother to us.”

Back home safely.
