Seva Samaj youth wing hosts Hanuman Chalisa Recital

The Hanuman Chalisa Recital is an auspicious occasion held in praise of Shri Hanuman, an ardent devotee of Lord Rama.

The Hanuman Chalisa is a sacred 40-line verse that tells the story of Shri Hanuman's ideal qualities as a devotee (Bhakta) – his strength, courage, wisdom, and devotion to Lord Rama. On Sunday, April 15, the youth wing of the Seva Samaj, Pretoria Navyuga Mandal, which celebrated its milestone 20th anniversary in 2015, hosted their 23rd annual 108 Hanuman Chalisa Recital at the Seva Samaj. The intention of singing this hymn is to remind his followers of all the qualities one should embody in their lives, as devotees of the Almighty.

The event was celebrated with great energy and enthusiasm amongst the Hindu community of Pretoria and surrounds. Secretary of the Seva Samaj, Pri Singh said, “devotees were delighted that the Hindu community had another spiritually uplifting day of togetherness.”
