Tears flow as family and friends bid last farewell to Kinesh

A Laudium father, of a 5-year-old child, has left both his family and friends shocked and saddened, after ‘deciding to call it a day,’ leaving a massive void in his family and within the community in which he grew up.

The devastated family and stunned friends of the deceased, Kinesh Padiachy, bid their tearful final farewells, as musical notes and the profound lyrics of rapper Tupac's 'Life goes on', played in the background, at the funeral. Final rites were performed at the funeral service, which took place this past Monday (March 19), at the Laudium Temple Hall on 15th Avenue.

According to a family friend, Kinesh's body was discovered by his father, Siva Padiachy (magistrate) at around 5am on Sunday morning (March 18) outside the family home on 13th Avenue. The distraught family friend added that Kinesh had apparently hung himself.

Kinesh is survived by his 5-year-old daughter, parents and two brothers. Previously, Kinesh lived with his partner, Shaan, and their daughter, on Barbara Coetzee Street in Erasmia. It is believed that the couple separated about four months ago and according to the family friend, their relationship was irreconcilable. “Kinesh lived for his child. He would see her almost every day and bring her home to his parents, who doted on her. Kinesh wanted full custody of his child as he believed that his parents would take better care of her than the mother, but after Shaan refused, Kinesh went into a severe depression.”

Shaan told the Laudium Sun that the death of Kinesh came as a shock to her. “My main concern now is that my child is without a father. I just want my space to mourn now.”

A tribute shared at the ceremony, read: "Kinesh made such a difference to many people's lives. He touched the hearts of many with just that 'glowing smile'. His personality was so unique, there will never be another. His smile was so bright, it would light up even the darkest of rooms. It is a day when tears will flow and hearts will break; a day for celebrating a unique and special person. His memory will live on and so will his spirit."

A police official confirmed to the Laudium Sun that an inquest docket was opened and added, “We can confirm that no foul play is suspected at this stage but we are still awaiting the post-mortem results.”

Kinesh Padiachy (35) was laid to rest this past Monday (March 19).

A large crowd attended the funeral service of Kinesh Padiachy at the Laudium Temple Hall.

Kinesh’s devastated father, Siva Padiachy (magistrate), performed the final rites, as the hearse was about to leave the Temple Hall for the crematorium, where he bid a heart-wrenching farewell.
