Today, Friday, June 15, commences the joyous day of Eid-ul-Fitr, heralding the closure of the blessed and holy month of Ramadaan. Eid is a significant religious holiday, that is celebrated by over a billion Muslims around the globe, and is a time for being with family, bestowing charity, wearing one’s finest attire, and with delight, exchanging gifts. On this day, the ill and those mourning the recent loss of loved ones, are also visited. The Laudium Sun joins learners, Mohammed Rafi Alimia (9), Shahzad Ahmed (7), Ibrahim Hassan (10), and (front) Rajob Mpofu (8), of Edu-Clinic Learning Centre, Erasmia, in wishing all Muslims throughout the world, a peaceful Eid-ul-Fitr.
