A police officer's vehicle was stolen from Lenasia Police Station in the early hours of March 15.
It is believed that the officer reported for duty at about 6pm, on March 14. As he was about to head home the next morning, he realised his white Toyota Corolla was not where he parked it.
It's also believed that another officer's vehicle was also tampered with.
The incident follows that of five police officers who were shot and killed at Ngcobo police station in the Eastern Cape recently.
"There is no security at police stations. However, SAPS management is considering measures to ensure that there is security at police stations," Lenasia police spokesperson, Captain Hector Netshivhodza said.
It has emerged that police officers are being targeted by criminals while they are on duty.
