Euphoric celebrations for Parktown Boys High - 10 Distinctions for Zidaan Habib

The release of the 2017 Gauteng Department of Education National Senior Certificate results had Parktown Boys' High matriculants riveted and ecstatic!

Acting principal, Kevin Stippel said that a number of the school's matriculants attained distinctions across various subjects.

"The top-performing candidate at the school, Zidaan Habib, received 10 distinctions for the year," said Stippel with pride.

"In general, the school did really well. Our top academics really came to the party, with a number of them achieving either eight or nine distinctions," he continued excitedly.

Zidaan, who attained distinctions in English, Afrikaans, Life Orientation, Maths, Physical Science, Information Technology, Accounting, Life Sciences, History and AP Maths, said he was overjoyed with his results. "It's been a very long and hard year. I also want to give my best wishes and congratulations to all my friends and fellow matriculants. As for myself, I'll be pursuing a degree in electrical engineering at a university that I'm still to decide on."

It appears that brilliance runs in the family as Zidaan's brother, Irfaan, also achieved 10 distinctions in 2013. The boys' father, Professor Adam Habib, is vice - chancellor at Wits University.
