Lenz shop owner killed during robbery

The owner of a hookah shop was shot

and killed and an assistant injured after a

robbery at the Hookah Home shop in the

Lenasia CBD, last Thursday, March 29.

The robbery took place at around 10 am just

before the start of the long Easter weekend.

According to Lenasia SAPS spokesperson,

Captain Hector Netshivhodza, the shop

assistant had left the shop to purchase

airtime at a nearby shop. Upon arrival, three

suspects stormed the shop demanding

money from the owner.

"The suspects then shot the owner on the

upper body, whilst shooting randomly. The

shop assistant who had just walked in, was

also seriously injured after being shot, and

rushed to hospital," Netshivhodza said.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken

during the brazen robbery.

The suspects are said to have fled the scene

in a white vehicle believed to be a BMW.
