Park Primary wins 12th Annual Science Scuffle competition

City of Johannesburg Library and Information Services hosted its 12th Annual Science Scuffle competition this year and Park Primary School, affiliated with Region G Libraries once again did Lenasia proud.

The Science scuffle competition is a programme aimed at imparting reference skills to learners. The teams are made up of six learners from schools all around the City of Johannesburg. Lenasia school's have historically performed well in the competition and Park Primary School have always represented themselves admirably, finishing up in the top 16 last year. This year, however, Park has excelled, outperforming over 250 schools to finish in top spot and bring the trophy back to Region G.

"We are extremely proud of this achievement. As a government school, I am always proud to say that the learners of Park never cease to amaze us," said Park Primary School's Principal, Shaukat Khan. He added, "Our learners displayed fantastic team effort throughout the competition. Their dedication and commitment to participate in these events are commendable".

Park Primary School was represented by a group of grade 6 and 7 jovial, free-spirited and enthusiastic learners led by the Headgirl, Romana Sulaiman and Headboy, Kiano Jude Naidoo. Tayyibah Hoosein, Safiya Ahmed, Muqaddassa Jassat, Muhammed Tameem Sibda and Raees Ebrahim Patel made up the rest of the dream team.

"It was indeed a proud moment to receive the prestigious Trophy at the Ennerdale extension 1 Library, in the presence of various Regions Libraries associates and facilitators and other contending schools," said Park Primary School's Educator Librarian, Mrs Azraa Khota.

Region G Libraries assistant director, Sapna Ragunanan, also extended her congratulations to Park Primary School for their outside.
